Children who receive Early Years Entitlement can either come to nursery completely for free using just those 15 hours/ or you can also use the free hours and “top up” with additional sessions if you wish.

2 Year Funding

15 hours funding for 2 year olds is not universal has to be applied for. You can apply as soon as your child becomes 2 and if they are eligible the funding starts the term following their 2nd birthday. As our nursery is in Salford, you must apply to Salford Council to access the funding. To apply for 2 yr funding: https://www.salford.gov.uk/children-and-families/

3 & 4 Year Funding

15 hours funding for 3 and 4 year olds starts from the term following their third birthday. This funding is universal and applies to all children so we complete all the paperwork in nursery. Some of those 3 and 4 year olds will also be entitled to apply for an additional 15 hours which make the total hours extend to 30 per week term time (up to 1140 per year). You need to apply for 30 hours yourself (but we will happily help you) and needs to be done ideally 4-6 weeks before your child’s 3rd birthday. To apply for 30 hours: https://www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-childcare
